I don’t have children of my own, but my great niece looks just like me when I was little. I didn’t realize this at first. I only knew that I was helplessly in love with the little rascal from the time she was born.
What is it about this child!?
One day someone posted on Facebook an old black and white photo of me, with a group of my cousins, when we were toddlers. I was astonished! My niece stared back at me from my own little-girl eyes! No wonder I was so in love with her . . . it was pure narcissism. Ha!
Whether or not we consciously realize it, all of us (on some level) recognize each other as children of the same God. The same spark of the divine lives within everyone, however shrouded that spark has become.
Today I recognize my brothers and sisters. I see you. I see our family resemblance. I recognize the child within you, who was born without fear or trauma. What ever may have happened since your birth, that child within – that spark of True Love – is still in there
